The CPSC suggests throwing away all phthalate – containing teething rings and soft toys used by infants, “as a precaution.” Replace them with phthalate-free items. A number of retailers have pledged to sell only products that babies put into their mouths that contain no phthalates. These stores include Kmart, Sears, Target, Roys “R” Us, and Wal-Mart.
